This scheme is started to solve the problem of malnutrition of children, pregnant & lactating women by providing nutrition to each child & women at each AWC. This is necessary to take the cooperation of local women allized with village community for the availability & proper distribution of nutrition health care of children and education. Those women whose children are registered at AWC can give their full contribution with active participation for the distribution of nutrition. Due to this scheme many problems will be solved at local level & women can involve in many program like health, pre school education of children at AWC.For these reasons, government has taken decision to organize one mother committee at each AWC. There is 7 to 12 members in each committee and exceptionally the members can go up to 15.

Following provisions are required to organize this committee-

Selection of member of mother committee will be done by Mukhya sevika in presence of Gram Pradhan with the help of govt. officer. The main responsibility of mother committee is that AWS must open regularly & nutrition should distribute regularly at AWC. Committee member will check & verify the stock time to time. Each member should take care of 2-3 registered children who have serious problem of malnutrition. Member should take care about availability & distribution of nutrition according to govt. Members will give full cooperation in vaccination health check up, pre school program nutrition & health education.

A meeting should be organizing on each Saturday for discussion so that they can give their full cooperation. A president & vice- president will be selected in the presence of Mukhya Sevika. It is necessary to organize a meeting in every two-month by mukhya sevika at AWC.
